C &L - Our City- Our Offices

Our location and building reflects C &L’s and its members passion for our City and the Law. In 2001, the Firm’s principals purchased and gut renovated the town house building housing their current offices at 46 Trinity Place, New York, New York, a stones throw from Wall Street and Federal Hall, the spot where President Washington took his oath of office. C &L’s Civil War Era building, one of the original sites of American Express, when its business consisted of transporting currency and freight to the far corners of New York State, is featured in Brockman & Harris’ classic historical compendium, One Thousand New York Buildings. The building and the Firm’s offices have been updated to a modern facility containing all modern communication, office equipment and capabilities, wedding old fashioned professional services, with high tech efficiency. C &L’s maintains its offices on the entire Fourth Floor of our building, with on site storage facilities in our own sprinklered basement. We are convenient to all of the City’s federal courts and local courts, as well as federal and state agencies, and financial markets.

C &L has assembled, a respectable collection of art and historical documents, portions of which it displays in its offices. The collection reflects in large part our connection to NYC and the Law. The Collection includes signed works of acclaimed historical artist, Kamil Kubic, official White House artist for the; and "Ellis Island Medal of Honor", recipient, who is included in the private collections of HRH Queen Elizabeth II, Presidents George W. Bush, Ford and Johnson.

Many of the pieces also consist of signed artwork by the late Soho, New York artist, Nassos Daphhis, whose work, the New York Times described in his December 12, 2010 obituary as “deploy[ing] brilliantly colored geometric forms in precise formal relationships to create nervous, dynamic paintings on a heroic scale.” Mr. Daphnis’ works are in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, the Guggenheim, the Whitney and Tel Aviv museums. C &L’s historical documents collections includes antique maps and documents, including letters signed by Presidents Ford and Kennedy, Vice President Humphrey, Mayor Fiorello Laguardia and former New York Governor and US Supreme Court Justice, Charles Evans Hughes.
